Sponsor a Child in Kabala, Sierra Leone

It’s quite amazing to think that what began as the dream of a community in 2005 is a living, breathing reality. Today in Kabala, Sierra Leone over 200  children are being educated by dedicated Christian teachers, in a wonderful building, with good learning materials, supported by a  rise school board and loving parents, all deeply grateful to the community in North America that is inspired to see this partnership happen. You have been part of something truly amazing; bringing hope, literacy and knowledge of God to this country which is moving steadily away from its legacy of war. Thank you for that.

As you may know, our child sponsorship program makes it possible for these children to attend. Parents pay about $25 per year, a big stretch in a country where the average yearly family income is only $580. In order to make this all work we need $250 per child. That’s quite amazing when you think that we can pay all teacher, security, maintenance, bookkeeper and cook salaries, supply all learning materials and food for the lunch program, and meet all the other expenses: a budget of approximately $45,000 for the whole year.

If you have sponsored a child(ren) in the past, we would love to see that support continue. If you are contemplating this for the first time, know that what you are doing will make a significant difference in the lives of these children and their community and country. We hear a great deal these days about the downturn in global economies. This is also having a big impact in the developing world. We do not want the relative problems we are experiencing here to prevent children from attending school in Sierra Leone. More than ever, we want to share our wealth and be generous as God has been generous with us.

I know that there is not a day that goes by at CRC Primary School in Kabala that we are not lifted up in prayer to God. God is doing wonderful things in this tiny country. We are inviting you to join us in this revolution of hope for the children of Sierra Leone.
